Getting Through Customs

Have you ever returned from a trip abroad being greeted by a smiling and cheery customs and immigration official? Dream on. The real scenario would be grouchy people with their palms extended asking for your passport and customs declaration. These are not airline employees but government people, and it is not necessary for them to be gracious and nice to earn their wages. They are hired to check if a person is entering the country illegally or bringing in something they consider illegal. They look at you, inspect your belongings and decide if you do merit being in their country.
