Can’t afford long term? Try the short version

It is not surprising, with the recession in full swing and the global economic crisis looming over everyone, for travelers to be a bit hesitant in getting themselves travel insurance.
But travel insurance IS important for travelers, at it covers a whole set of events that will prove to be expensive to shoulder straight from you wallet like loss of luggage or medical expenses you incur abroad or in places not covered by your regular health insurance.
If you cannot really afford long term insurance, then maybe you can try your hand at short term travel insurance. Short term travel insurance is usually 3-5 years, and offers more flexible payment terms and cheaper premiums. Rates and coverages differ depending on the insurance provider, so you will need to do some research to find which policy from what company works best for you.
