Read and fill out the forms cautiously. A list of items that are considered illegal is written at the back of the form, and clear guideline in filling up the form is outlined.
Declare everything that you have, specially if you’re not sure whether the items you have are considered legal. They don’t accept the reasoning that you don’t know.

Here are a few tips to get through customs without any argument:

Don’t bring agricultural products like flowers or farm produce as this could take a lot of your time in the inspection area.
Carry a copy of your passport. It is acceptable for some officials when you have misplaced your passport, or at least they could give you some leniency.
Don’t se your cellphone. It is not quite clear what the reason is behind this rule but they do sequester them when they see you using it.
Avoid making jokes or clever answer to customs officials. They would think that you are hiding something or else you’re up to something ominous.

Pre-existing medical circumstance – this refers to medical situation arising before you travel or before the actual start of the policy which is the time you check in at your destination.
Delay in getting your baggage – this applies to outbound flights only and do not cover the delay when you fly home. Be sure to carry a few things needed to cover for a least a day just in case this happens.
Pet problems – we love our pets and in cases that they fell ill, we would not like to leave them at home. Delaying the trip for this reason is not considered to be an insurance matter.

There are some events that happen that you may consider as out of the ordinary but the possibility is still there. Insurance companies feel that clients may claim from them when these things occur so they have made provisions to guard them from such claims. Some of the events that are excluded include:
Cancellation of the tour by the organizer – most insurance providers do not deal with this eventuality and this means that refund for airfare is not covered.
War/Local protests – civil unrest, mass actions occurring at the time of your travel are excluded from policies even if they do cause your changing of plan.
